Welding Capabilities

The Steelform welding department internally develops and qualifies its operational procedures to ensure structural integrity and joint quality in accordance with the highest international standards. Welding qualifications comply with ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1 & D1.6, and UNI EN ISO 15614-XX, and are customised to meet the client’s specific requirements.

Upon request, we carry out advanced testing, including Disbonding Tests, Corrosion Tests, and Step Cooling, ensuring compliance with the most demanding performance standards in high-severity industrial sectors.

Components

Welding Processes and Non-Destructive Testing

Steelform is equipped with specialist machinery and qualified personnel to perform a wide range of manual and automated welding processes, suitable for both standard and high-performance alloys.

Available welding processes:

  • SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)

  • SAW (Submerged Arc Welding)

  • GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) – semi-automatic and automatic

  • PAW (Plasma Arc Welding) – automatic

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):

  • Visual Testing (VT)

  • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)

  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

  • Magnetic Particle Testing (MT)

  • Radiographic Testing (RT)

  • Positive Material Identification (PMI)

Materials welded:

  • Carbon steels: S355, S275, P355, P275, SA516-GR.70

  • Alloy and low-alloy steels: SA387-GR.11 / GR.22 / GR.22V, SA182-F92

All activities are performed in full compliance with international standards and client specifications, ensuring high quality, full traceability, and structural reliability of all welded joints.

Cladding

Steelform has extensive expertise in cladding processes, designed to apply wear- and corrosion-resistant overlays on components operating in severe environments. Claddings are applied using manual, semi-automatic, or mechanisedtechniques depending on the geometry and technical specifications of the part.

Key technical parameters

Curved surfaces:

  • From I.D. 318 mm to I.D. 850 mm (mechanised)

  • From I.D. 50 mm (manual or semi-automatic)

Nozzles, pipes, and forgings:

  • Internal diameters from I.D. 23 mm to I.D. 1500 mm

  • Maximum length up to 2000 mm

These surface treatments are engineered to provide long-term protection and structural integrity, in line with the client’s operational and environmental requirements.
